The best way to find your favorite coffee is to try them all, but not sure where to start?
If you tend to like your coffee without milk, a light to medium roast is the way to go. Light to medium roasts often produce a more distinct, flavourful and balanced cup, which is what makes them a perfect fit for that drip or black coffee. Medium to dark roasts are best suited for milk-based drinks as they create cut-through – meaning you can still taste the personality of the roast even with the milk mixed in.
Flavor intensity is typically determined by the origin of the beans and the level of roast. Beans that are lightly roasted tend to have a more mild flavor with fruity notes and brighter taste. On the other spectrum, the darker the roast, the smokier the flavor and more robust.
